Paintings of Old Testament Themes in the National Gallery of Canada

Join AJA and Angela Marcus, an art historian who has taught Art history/Art appreciation for over three decades, for an in-person tour at the National Gallery of Canada. See the for the Old Testament stories come to life in colour on canvas, with vigorous brush strokes and energetic diagonal lines in works by Italian, French, Spanish and Dutch artists. Included are subjects such as Esther, Lot and his Daughters, Job, Abraham and the Angels, The Prodigal Son and Susanna and the Elders. Colour copies of paintings from international collections by Artemisia Gentileschi, in some instances, will play a supporting role.
