About AJA 50+

AJA 50+ (Active Jewish Adults) is an independent, volunteer-driven charitable organization for the 50+ population.

We invite you to join us for interesting, educational programs and the opportunity to develop new friendships and social connections through our AJA 50+ community.

About AJA 50+, Members and the organization

Our purpose is to provide a range of cultural, recreational, social, and educational programs designed to meet the needs of the 50+ population in the Ottawa Jewish Community and beyond. Established in 2001, AJA 50+ was created to meet the needs of mature adults in the Jewish Community. Run by its members, AJA 50+ provides year-round programming and social networking.

Our members include people from all walks of life: singles, couples, Jews, and non-Jews; those affiliated with synagogues and the Jewish Community, as well as those who have no Jewish affiliation. Some of our members have lived in Ottawa most of their lives, while others are newcomers to the city. And some don’t reside in Ottawa, but rather join us remotely. We have about 400 members ranging in age from 50 to 99. Membership is open to anyone aged 50 and older.

An email newsletter is sent out weekly to update current members. All programs for the current and future month are set out, and registration links are included for online registration.

Programs are held during daytime hours, Monday through Sunday, with the exception of Saturday and holidays.
